Located in the heart of the city, the Toronto Eaton Center is Canada's premier shopping destination. The shopping mall houses more than 230 retailers, restaurants and services, and consists of multiple buildings featuring various parking facilities.
The mall's management team wanted to automate vehicular access in an effort to make parking more user-friendly and comfortable for all drivers and operators. Another requirement was to improve convenience for tenants and employees without sacrificing security. Nedap AVI's long-range vehicle identification RFID reader was chosen for the project. The reader has a minimum read range of 4 meters and a maximum of 10, designed specifically for reliable long-read ranges. The automatic vehicle identification system consists of RFID readers and ID vehicle tag transponders for hands-free parking access.
