Surya Multi Laksana runs a garment factory in the third largest city in Bandung, Indonesia. It produces quality T-shirts and retail an assortment of its clothing line under brand names such as Logo, Body Talk, Bomb Boogie and Ninety Degrees.

Being an environment with staff working through different shifts, Surya's factory needed a system which allows the company to automate the recording of the shift attendance of its staff. Having the experience of using FingerTec terminals, the company was determined to continue to adopt FingerTec products.

The FingerTec H2i is a time attendance and access control solution for factories and small businesses. The product has the standard features of most biometric terminals but is more cost-effective.

In this case, Surya installed 13 units of FingerTec H2i, but only used the units as a time and attendance device to start with. The simple voice-guided H2i terminal does not have any external keys or buttons that confuse users, further ensuring smooth daily operations. The FingerTec terminals were also installed in the headquarters and several branches throughout Bandung.

“Opting for the H2i always leaves room for an expansion of the system in the future, to include access control features without having to fork out another big installation sum; that is why we suggested that model,” said Nesya Claudia at Marketing Department of Ritech, the project's installer.
