Smiths Detection Wins $20 Million Indian Four Major Port Contracts

Smiths Detection has won a $20 million contract to supply the Indian customs authorities with high-energy, X-ray screening systems to inspect trucks and containers at four major ports.

The Indian Central Board of Excise and Customs chose Smiths Detection to deliver its HCVS stationary systems to the ports of Chennai, Tuticorin, Kandla and Mumbai, over the next two to three years. Smiths Detection will work in partnership with Bharat Electronics Limited, a government-owned public sector company under the Indian Ministry of Defence.
