Novacom has successfully installed an Intellect-based security and video surveillance system at the Kurgan Region Court, a federal court of general jurisdiction and part of Russia's judicial system.

A total of 110 IP cameras have been installed in the court's new six-storey building with an area of almost 2,000 square meters. The PoE technology helped simplify the installation of the IP cameras. The devices scattered around the entire building were all connected to three video servers without involving additional video encoding devices.

AxxonSoft's Axxon was selected as the optimal platform for the video surveillance system as it enables to synchronize all the servers and offers centralized viewing from all the cameras and archived video sequences from one workstation. A Video Gate module provides video stream paralleling and scaling capability. This module allows building a multi-level network hierarchy providing access to video information to users across all network segments and minimizing load on servers and communication channels.

The system is based on three seventh generation servers with the Intellect software. The servers also provide storage for the archive of all the 110 IP cameras installed in the building. Video is broadcasted to two operator work stations screens that also provide access to the video archive. In all, the Intellect system's installation and commissioning took four days.
