Winter sports village Metabief in the region of Doubs, France trusts ASSA ABLOY's Vachette with the task of securing its municipal buildings with mechatronic locking systems.

Winters can be particularly tough in Metabief, a village nestled on Mont-d'Or, a few kilometers from the Swiss border. So when the authorities decided it was time to change the locks on the town hall, they knew they needed a system that could stand up to adverse weather conditions while also providing a flexible lock hierarchy.

“Mechatronic locking perfectly met these criteria,” said Mayor Gerard Deque. “The brand already has an excellent reputation here.”

Mechatronic locking  is based on ASSA ABLOY's group-wide CLIQ technology. It is an intelligent solution, integrating high-grade precision mechanics and electronic modules. The system mainly consists of mechatronic locking cylinders and mechatronic keys. It can also be combined or extended with purely mechanical locking cylinders.

The contract calls for about 100 cylinders over two years. This includes a programming unit and management software, as well as training in the use of the software. For the moment, only the town hall will be fitted with the new locks. Over time, all of the municipal buildings will be secured with Verso Cliq.
