Norbain appointed Barry Shakespeare as new MD.

With a career that spans more than 30 years in the telecommunications and computer industries, Shakespeare brings to Norbain a wealth of experience gained within large multinational corporate and SME companies, including Honeywell, Case Communications, Nortel Networks and more recently the Westcon Group.

Spanning roles encompassing technology product manufacturing, sales, and distribution, Shakespeare’s depth of experience is demonstrated with a professional track record of substantially improving company performance, customer service and profitability.

"Norbain is a successful company that has built an enviable reputation as partner of choice for installers, end users and manufacturers alike across Europe," Barry said. "I’m excited about the opportunities that exist for further business growth and am looking forward to working with Norbain’s caliber staff, customers and vendor partners. Continuing to supply our customers with the mix of solutions they require is at the top of our agenda, particularly in these changing times of technology transformation and convergence."

Shakespeare takes over from Norbain Group Chief Executive Alun John, who has also been acting as MD of Norbain pending the appointment. This will enable Alun to concentrate on the development of group strategy and expansion of Norbain’s business in all its existing and planned markets.
