LaserCard, a provider of secure ID solutions, won a follow-on purchase order valued at approximately US$2.2 million for chip-ready, optical security media-based credentials for the Saudi Arabia national citizen ID card program. Delivery has been completed in the company’s current fiscal quarter, ending Oct. 1.

The ID cards are issued to Saudi citizens nationwide for identification and regional travel purposes.

“Saudi Arabian citizens are carrying credentials based on ID technology acknowledged, providing the nation a national and cross-border security tool,” said Robert DeVincenzi, President and CEO of LaserCard.

LaserCard’s advanced ID credentials are trusted by governments worldwide to protect the personal identification of their citizens, foreign residents and government employees and to provide official documentation such as driver licenses and vehicle registration cards.
