G4S Integrated Services , which specializes in providing integrated facilities management and specialist support services in critical environments, has been awarded a 25-year contract to supply facilities management and lifecycle to Crown Wood and Thomas Tallis secondary schools in Greenwich, under the Government's Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative.

Under the contract G4S will deliver a wide range of facilities management services including caretaking, cleaning, waste and pest control, grounds maintenance, security, energy and utilities, health and safety, routine and reactive maintenance and lifecycle in line with the government's educational reform agenda. These facility management services will be rolled out in Crown Wood and Thomas Tallis schools once their new buildings have been completed in Easter and October 2011 respectively. G4S already provided facilities management and lifecycle services to more than 30 schools across the U.K.

BSF is the biggest single government investment program in improving school buildings for over 50 years and was announced in 2004. The aim is to rebuild or renew every secondary school around 3,500 in England over a 15-year period and is worth approximately US$65.3 billion over the 15 years - subject to future public spending decisions.
