Synectics Industrial Systems, an adverse environment video specialist, was awarded a follow-up contract by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering to supply its COEX Ex and Marine video surveillance systems to two 171,800-cubic-meter Taiwan Maritime Transport liquid natural gas (LNG) carriers.
These vessels will be owned by Taiwan Marine and operated by Bluesky LNG with delivery expected in 2010.
The video surveillance equipment provided will include Synectics industry standard EExd certified COEX FECH2 PTZ camera stations to monitor the deck areas of each ship. The camera stations will also be employed to provide operators with an unencumbered view of both port and starboard sides due to its wash/wipe facility
Synectics Industrial Systems will also provide audio and visual monitoring equipment to each ship's engine room. This will allow staff to monitor the power unit and detect and resolve any occurring issues quickly, to minimize any resulting downtime for the high-cost vessels.
