Chinese access control reader players are concentrating efforts on developing functions like access control surveillance, time management and authorization. ASMAG.com selects several models from Coscon, Newabel, Reformer and Sebury for review.

Coson 's Rebit SRX312RS proximity reader works at 13.56 MHz radio frequency and conforms to ISO14443A and U.S. electrical appliance installation standards. Its delicate, yet robust design enhances ease of installation. It is practical for use in non-metal door frames or regular 120-millimeter by 120-millimeter holders.

Rebit supports Wiegand 26/34 output, data memory saving and writing. It is compatible with different brands of access controllers. The product can be configured to read any Mifare card, achieving read ranges from seven centimeters to 10 centimeters. Read and write capacity is more than 100,000 times. By switching the jumper, users can easily change mode. Operation is nine volts to 15 volts DC and 80 milliamperes to 90 milliamperes (consumption).

Operating temperature is from -25 degrees to +70 degrees Celsius and 10 percent to 90 percent humidity. These simple products (silver or black) can be self-installed in small offices or homes. No other software is needed.

Sebury's F1 metal fingerprint access control reader features an attractive appearance and compact module design at a competitive price. It has 500 fingerprint templates and supports verification mode of 1:N. With an optical sensor, resolution reaches 500 DPI. F1 offers two output types: output 1 supports relay 3A 12-volt DC; output 2 supports Wiegand 26/34. Identification speed is less than two seconds. False rejection rate (FRR) is less than 1 percent, while false acceptance rate (FAR) is less than 0.0001 percent. Power supply is 12 volts DC; current is maintained at 150 milliamperes.

The Reformer RF-RD20/RC20 reader complies with Asian and European installation standards. It offers 12-volt DC power supply and 200 milliamperes.
Users can select ID and IC cards. Reading distance is eight centimeters to 15 centimeters for ID cards, five centimeters to 10 centimeters for IC cards. It supports signal output (WG26, WG34 and RS485). Dimensions are 9.5 centimeters by 9.5 centimeters by 2.2 centimeters. Also, the unique construction delivers stability, water-resistance and vandal resistance. Multi-color lights are optional. The product is suitable for banks, prisons, museums, fire gateways and others high-security environments.

The RC/RD90 series of card readers (made with IML technology) is specially designed for high-end construction applications. The inner tamper device has a waterproof and dust-proof structure and two inner inputs. In addition, the reader can display swipe state (success or failure) by LBD. The RC/RD90 series supports multiple networking protocols, such as RS485, WG26, WG34 and TCP/IP. Optional card types include Mifare One and EM. Dimensions are 87 millimeters by 87 millimeters by 21 millimeters.

Finally, Newabel's CHD602F/FM Mifare card reader supports reading distances of 100 millimeters to 150 millimeters and access modes by card. Users can open doors with IC (EM) cards, passwords or cards with password. Output interface is standard Wiegand 26-bit. Relative humidity is 20 percent to 90 percent. Working temperature is -10 to 55 degrees Celsius. Dimensions are 120 millimeters by 206 millimeters by 24 millimeters. It is suitable for high-security environments such as top-grade offices.
