Secure Logiq and Cortech Developments are joining forces for
Resilience by Design, a new CPD-accredited event designed to get consultants and specifiers thinking about resilience from the very beginning of the security system design process.
Taking place at The British Library in London on 16
th September and The Lowry in Salford on 7
th October, the sessions will bring together Secure Logiq’s expertise in server and storage technology for HD surveillance with Cortech Developments’ intelligent security management software experience.
The central message is simple: resilience is not something that can be added at the end of a project. Instead, the CPD will examine how decisions made across software, hardware and infrastructure all contribute to the long-term availability and continuity of a security system and why greater collaboration between manufacturers, integrators, consultants and specifiers can lead to better outcomes.
Topics will include failover and redundancy, continuity planning, cybersecurity, infrastructure design and assessing risk throughout the design, deployment and operational stages of a project.
“Resilience is one of those words that gets used a lot, but the important question is what it actually looks like when you start designing a system,” says Ben Yoxall, Managing Director of Secure Logiq. “It isn’t one product, feature or box you can bolt on at the end. It comes from understanding how every layer of the system interacts and making the right decisions early enough for them to make a difference.
“That is really what these sessions are about. We want to get people talking about resilience at the design and specification stage and looking at the infrastructure as a complete system, rather than a collection of individual technologies.”
Each event will offer identical morning and afternoon sessions, giving delegates the option to attend at a time that best suits them. Alongside the main
Resilience by Design CPD presentation, attendees will hear introductions from both Secure Logiq and Cortech Developments, take part in an open Q&A and have the opportunity to network with other consultants, specifiers and industry professionals.

By the end of the CPD, attendees will have explored resilience as a wider lifecycle principle, identified key failover and redundancy approaches, considered the role of secure infrastructure within cybersecurity strategy and examined how risks to continuity can be addressed throughout a system’s lifetime.
