The AI for Good Global Summit, the flagship global event on artificial intelligence organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), was held in Geneva from July 7 to 10, 2026. As a key platform under the United Nations system focusing on AI technology innovation, international governance, and standards cooperation, this year’s summit brought together representatives from governments, international organizations, research institutions, and leading technology enterprises worldwide to explore how artificial intelligence can better serve the sustainable development of human society.

As a global leader in trusted identity and spatial intelligence technologies, ZKTeco was invited to attend the summit and take part in the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) thematic forum. The company engaged in in-depth discussions with global experts on BCI technology innovation, industrial applications, international standards cooperation, and technology ethics, jointly exploring pathways toward a healthy, orderly, and sustainable future for the BCI industry.

Focusing on Technology for Good: Building an Open BCI Ecosystem

One of the key agendas of the summit was the thematic forum “Brain-Computer Interface: Technology for Good and Application Cooperation,” organized under the leadership of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). The forum centered on the beneficial applications of BCI technology, industrial collaboration, international standards, and technology for good. Experts and scholars from China, Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Italy, Singapore, and other countries and regions participated in the exchanges.

At the forum, Sebastian Tam, Chief Technology Officer of ZKTeco’s Brain-Computer Interface Business Unit, participated in the thematic discussion and joined the roundtable on “BCI Applications and Cooperation.”

Sebastian Tam stated that the greatest challenge in scaling BCI applications is not a single technological breakthrough, but the coordinated evolution of technology maturity, application value, industrial ecosystem, cost structures, ethical governance, and international standards.

He emphasized that BCI is transitioning from scientific research exploration to the industrialization stage. Open collaboration, joint standard-setting, and responsible innovation will serve as the critical foundation for the industry’s long-term healthy development. Only by building an open and trustworthy industrial ecosystem can the long-term value of BCI—in improving human life and empowering industrial development—be fully realized.

Advancing the BCI × AI Strategy: Exploring Next-Generation Human-Machine Interaction

In recent years, ZKTeco has continuously advanced its BCI × AI strategic layout, dedicated to building a world-leading non-invasive brain-computer interface infrastructure and driving the deep integration of brain science, artificial intelligence, and life sciences.

Leveraging its self-developed ZKBrainScape BCI Emotion Large Model, the company continues to promote the fusion innovation of brain-computer interfaces and artificial intelligence. Research focuses on key directions including affective computing, cognitive assessment, and human-machine interaction, exploring more natural and efficient modes of human-machine collaboration.

At the same time, ZKTeco is joining forces with its strategic partner NeuroSky and collaborating with global research institutions, industry organizations, and ethics experts to jointly advance the construction of a global open cooperation platform for non-invasive brain-computer interfaces. These efforts continuously strengthen international technical exchanges and industrial synergy, driving BCI technology toward safer, more trustworthy, and more inclusive development.

From Industry Initiatives to Global Collaboration

Technological innovation requires not only breakthroughs but also consensus. ZKTeco has always adhered to the development philosophy of “Technology for Good” and actively promotes open collaboration across the BCI industry.

During the 2025 Global Partner Conference, the company jointly initiated the “Bangkok Declaration on Brain-Computer Interfaces” with global partners. At the Change-Maker Brain-Computer Interface (China) Launch Conference held in March 2026, more than 40 experts, scholars, technology companies, and partners from China, the United States, Japan, Spain, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries and regions jointly signed the “Declaration on Brain-Computer Interface Technology for Good,” advocating open innovation, ethical governance, and standard coordination to promote the healthy development of the BCI industry.

The “Declaration on Brain-Computer Interface Technology for Good” both deepens the “Bangkok Declaration on Brain-Computer Interfaces” and embodies the shared vision of the global industry community to advance the standardized and regulated development of BCI.

As global collaboration continues to deepen, brain-computer interfaces are gradually moving from laboratories into real-world industrial scenarios, where international cooperation, the construction of standard systems, and technology ethics are becoming increasingly vital.

Open Innovation for a Smarter Future

Today, brain-computer interfaces are emerging as one of the key directions for the integrated development of artificial intelligence and life sciences, continuously driving the evolution of interaction paradigms between humans and intelligent systems.

ZKTeco’s participation in the AI for Good Global Summit is not only an important practice of the company’s active engagement in global BCI industry collaboration, but also a concrete demonstration of its globalization strategy and unwavering commitment to technology for good.
Looking ahead, ZKTeco will continue to uphold innovation-driven development and open cooperation, deepen its BCI × AI strategic layout, strengthen collaborative innovation with global research institutions, industry partners, and international organizations, actively participate in international standards development, and continuously expand the application boundaries of BCI technology. The company will promote the evolution of brain-computer interfaces along a safe, trustworthy, sustainable, and beneficial path.

As a global trusted identity and spatial intelligence technology enterprise, ZKTeco will continue to advance the deep integration of artificial intelligence, brain science, and spatial intelligence. Together with global partners, we will jointly build a more open, trustworthy, and inclusive new ecosystem for human-machine collaboration—enabling technological innovation to more broadly serve society, empower industries, and benefit humanity.
