A key component in video surveillance, VMS or video management software is tasked with processing and managing video feeds from different cameras. Today, various VMS products are available in the market, each with unique and special features to enhance the user’s video security. This article looks at the latest VMS solutions from some of the world’s leading brands, listed by the name of the brand.

AXIS Camera Station Pro by Axis Communications

Axis Communications’ flagship video management software, Camera Station Pro allows users to easily view live video, search and export recordings, and manage access control. The 2026 edition includes various new features, chief among them natural language search, which allows users to retrieve relevant footage just by entering a conversation-like text. Other advanced features include enhanced AI integration, cloud and hybrid storage, improved access control capabilities, enhanced cybersecurity and user interface improvements. “The new features align well with industry trends, supporting smarter, more scalable, and user-friendly VMS solutions,” said Joakim Tullberg, Global Product Manager at Axis Communications.

EVMS Pro by CP PLUS

In its latest edition, EVMS Pro by CP PLUS has enhanced its capabilities across AI integration, scalability, and system responsiveness. Compared to earlier versions, the platform now offers features including more advanced AI-driven analytics for precise detection and classification, improved multi-site management with seamless centralized monitoring, and greater flexibility in integration with third-party systems and devices.

“Earlier versions of EVMS Pro were primarily focused on video aggregation and monitoring; however, the latest version moves beyond that, enabling data correlation, intelligent alerts, and actionable insights. It reflects a shift from being a surveillance tool to becoming a comprehensive security management platform,” said Aditya Khemka, MD of CP PLUS, adding that the advancements are a direct response to evolving user expectations.
“Organizations today face the challenge of managing massive volumes of video data. Features like AI-powered analytics and natural language search (emerging capability) significantly reduce the time and effort required to extract meaningful insights. The adoption of hybrid and cloud-enabled capabilities caters to businesses operating across multiple locations, ensuring real-time visibility and centralized control without geographical limitations,” Khemka said.

Insight by Intellicene

Intellicene Insight is the newest addition to the Intellicene portfolio, transforming traditional video surveillance systems into intelligent, event-driven security platforms that see, understand, and interpret activity in real time.

“Rather than relying on operators to interpret multiple streams, it uses real-time anomaly detection and behavioral analysis to highlight what is truly out of the ordinary. This gives operators clearer visibility without overwhelming them,” said Greg Colaluca, CEO of Intellicene. “It also introduces a more connected experience by bringing live and historical data together in one place. This allows teams not only to respond in the moment but also to identify patterns, measure performance, and stay aligned across locations.”

XProtect by Milestone Systems

XProtect, Milestone Systems’ flagship VMS, now has a range of new features. Milestone XProtect Video Summarization brings generative AI into the XProtect Smart Client and uses Milestone’s video language model, powered by NVIDIA technology, to provide an instant textual summary of events, which may also be used in the form of a voice assistant in wearables.

“The system is trained on traceable, responsibly sourced data to support transparency and performance,” said Barry Norton, Fellow at Milestone Systems. “Arcules now supports smarter, faster investigations with multi-camera forensic video search and dual-layer motion detection, and supports external case sharing, with controlled access to evidence and secure, time-limited link sharing.”

Norton adds Milestone Systems has announced an App Center. “It’s a new way to discover, test, and quickly deploy VMS applications and tech partner solutions. It's powered by the XProtect App Platform, a new component that will improve hardware optimization and prepare VMS for advanced AI,” he said.

MxManagementCenter by MOBOTIX

MOBOTIX’s VMS approach is built around MxManagementCenter. Recent enhancements focus on integrating AI analytics directly into the user workflow, improving event handling, and enabling faster investigations through Smart Data Search. MOBOTIX has also strengthened cybersecurity features and expanded integration capabilities.

“Compared to earlier versions, MxManagementCenter has clearly evolved into a platform for intelligent event management rather than just video monitoring,” said Christian Cabirol, CTO of MOBOTIX. “These developments are closely aligned with what customers are asking for: faster response times, reduced complexity and higher security.”

Nx Witness Gen 6 by Network Optix

The latest version of Nx Witness is Generation 6, which introduces a new cloud layer that allows organizations to scale their systems while maintaining centralized visibility through a single interface. It also adds support for Docker, enabling more flexible and consistent deployment across environments. Alongside this, Network Optix has introduced a set of core services that expand the platform’s capabilities including: Nx Connect, a cloud-based portal for managing subscriptions and services; Nx AI Manager, a universal model pipeline that optimizes AI models for various accelerators with customizable pre- and post-processing configurations; and Nx Maps, a 2D/3D mapping solution for visual representations of IP devices across environments.

“Generation 6 aligns closely with the broader industry direction, particularly as organizations look to adopt AI, maintain flexibility, and scale their systems more efficiently,” said Joel Lahnstein, Marketing Operations Manager at Network Optix. “Rather than introducing isolated features, the platform is designed to support these shifts in a more unified way. It enables organizations to incorporate AI into their workflows more seamlessly, while maintaining the flexibility to work across different hardware environments and system architectures.”

Edge VMS Cloud Suite by Verint

The EdgeVMS Cloud Suite by Verint Fraud and Security Solutions combines flexible cloud capabilities with the security and performance that financial institutions expect. Designed for hybrid environments, the Cloud Suite protects existing investments while enabling cloud scalability.

“There is a clear need to evolve systems without disrupting operations, and to get more value from video without adding complexity,” said Matt Tengwall, SVP and General Global Manager. “By supporting hybrid environments, open integration, and better access to video data, these capabilities help teams move faster and work more efficiently.”
