Inim offers full integration with ‘Made-in-Italy’ portfolio beyond fire and intrusion detection

The biggest names in the security industry must be Hikvision and Inim—this was the impression given to visitors of SICUREZZA who weren’t familiar with the balance of power in the security industry. At one of Europe’s foremost security shows, held in Milan, Italy, from Nov. 19-21, 2025, the two companies had the biggest and most impressive booths.

Hikvision has indeed been the worldwide biggest company in the sector for a decade now, while Inim is “only” a household name in some markets—Europe (especially Italy), Africa and South America, where it is primarily known for integrated fire and intrusion detection technology. Its strong presence at SICUREZZA, however, reflected its ambition to expand its market reach, on the back of a product portfolio that is continuously broadening in scope, as well as strong business momentum over the past couple of years.

In Milan, Inim showcased how its integrated solutions offer full “Made-in-Italy” control for deployments from smart homes to infrastructure projects, securing the brand a strong foothold in its core markets, and increasingly beyond.

“In Asia, Inim and its distribution partners are in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and China, but there are many other markets that we want to explore,” Marcelo Cotignola, Managing Director for Iberia and Latin America at Inim, told asmag.com in an exclusive interview at the company’s booth. Forays into new markets, he said, come on the back of over 20% revenue growth annually over the past couple of years.

Regional leader

In Europe, Inim is the No. 1 brand from Italy, Cotignola said, highlighting that he is bullish the company will maintain its position as a technology leader. “Everything we create is based on innovation.”

Building on this position, Inim is pushing a broader technology roadmap designed to unify fire detection, intrusion, video and home automation under a single ecosystem. At SICUREZZA, the company highlighted updates across its portfolio, including InVista IP cameras and NVRS, featuring higher levels of system-wide integration with CoreSync; the  FireDesigner and InCadPro design tools for fire professionals; and the InimHome app that ties multiple subsystems together for residential and SMB customers.
“We started with fire, then we launched intrusion, and the last product we introduced is emergency lighting,” Cotignola said. “Our differentiator is that we have addressable emergency lighting inside the fire system,” an approach he noted helps installers manage testing and maintenance from one platform.

Inim harnesses synergies between fire and intrusion detection, as do many other companies with offerings in both domains. The Italian company, however, puts a particularly strong focus on full integration, with all functions converging in the cloud, where users can operate all sub-systems from a unified platform.

“In fire detection, we were the first brand to introduce a cloud solution. We were also the first company offering touchscreen panels,” Cotignola said, adding that only full integration can ensure ease of use, especially in real-life emergency scenarios.

“Such situations tend to be complex,” he added. “It can be difficult for operators to decide what to do in case of a fire. With Inim, everything is integrated and easy to understand—all on one touch screen, with pictures and icons.”

Video security first became part of Inim’s offering as a means of verification in emergency scenarios—with real-time footage helping operators get “more complete information of the environment.”

Edge AI cameras

At SICUREZZA, Inim draw significant attention with its InVista line of products, a complete, integrated video solution combining cameras, NVRs, cloud services, analytics, and—obviously—seamless integration with intrusion and fire detection systems.

InVista cameras include models with fixed and motorized lenses, ranging from bullet cameras to minidomes, with resolutions up to 4MP, day‑night operation, smart‑IR or LED illumination, true WDR and low‑light sensitivity. They feature Inim’s edge AI, developed in-house, which can detect what’s happening in every frame, trigger customizable alarms and automatically send 15-second snippets of 4k footage to the cloud for verification.

Installed in people’s homes, the systems can be armed via Alexa or Google Plus. In case of an event deemed suspicious, users receive instant notifications on their phones. All cloud services are included in the respective Inim products—no subscription is needed to benefit from them.

While this is especially attractive for home and SMB users, Inim solutions are designed with scalability and different levels of compliance needs in mind.

“Our projects include embassies, hospitals and airports,” Cotignola said. “In Brazil, we have car manufacturing plants. In Spain, we have an installation with 26,000 detectors and voice evacuation integration. These are huge, complex installations.”

As Inim is expanding globally, requiring adaptation to local markets and regulatory regimes, the company seeks to keep some cornerstones of its operation untouched. One of them is that all its products are “Made-in-Italy.”

“We manufacture everything in one place, in San Benedetto near the Adriatic coast,” Cotignola said, adding that, while Inim sources components globally, it is important to ensure full control over its solutions. “We design and manufacture the hardware. We design the software. We control all processes. We ensure that cloud data is stored and processed in Europe.”

Full quality control

Another cornerstone is that 100% of Inim’s products are tested before they are shipped, as the company seeks to ensure the highest built quality. To minimize delays and ensure competitive prices, it has largely automated its warehouse operations.

Before an Inim product is shipped, “we need to make 100% sure that it works and the customer doesn’t incur preventable costs in the future, due to repairs for example,” Cotignola said. “In markets such as Latin America, when people see the Inim label and the ‘Made-in-Italy’ label, they know it’s top quality.”

There is, however, an emotional component to “Made-in-Italy,” too.

“It doesn’t just mean a product comes from a factory in Italy,” Cotignola said. “For Inim, it means top quality is embedded, innovation is embedded, our passion for the product is embedded.”
