Custom Connections Audio Video is a Hikvision dealer based in Springboro, Ohio, and they were hired by Express Car Wash Concepts to improve vehicle visibility in their car wash tunnels.
Innovative Hikvision products in a car wash environment
Express Car Wash Concepts has over 200 locations in Ohio, and Custom Connections recommended Hikvision 4 MP and 4K turret cameras, rather than dome cameras, to provide better image quality and durability over time. They also suggested upgrading the existing 16-channel DVRs to Hikvision’s plug-and-play PoE NVR with more channels and ports.
Hikvision 4K AcuSense Fixed Turret Network Cameras were installed at entrances, exits, and other locations in the car wash tunnels to provide HD video and images. Plus, these cameras are water and dust-resistant and feature AcuSense technology, which allows AI-driven human and vehicle target classification. Pinhole cameras were also used at the payment kiosks to help identify anyone who might vandalize the touch screens.
Remote access and live feeds
To ensure a consistent user experience across locations, the company deployed the iVMS-4200 app with static IP addresses so that executives and managers were able to access the system remotely. Employees at each car wash site could then monitor live video feeds on 4K monitors and easily save video clips for review. The upgraded Hikvision cameras and NVR significantly boosted the car wash's security while reducing liabilities.
