VIVOTEK had been availing itself with PlateSmart Technologies' PlateSmart ARES automatic license plate recognition (LPR) software integration. It recently strengthened that relationship with another PlateSmart integration: Powered by PlateSmart.
“One of the benefits of Powered by PlateSmart is the ease with which it can be integrated with other business solutions,” said Webb Wang, chief technology officer, PlateSmart. “We integrated it with VIVOTEK’s VAST 2 video management system using a simple plug-in. Powered by PlateSmart just reads the plates, extracts the data and sends it to VAST 2, where searches and viewing can be done.”
Built upon AI and deep machine learning, Powered by PlateSmart was developed to allow providers to easily extend their solutions to include the vehicle data PlateSmart can provide. This includes the license plate, its state jurisdiction, vehicle make, and color. Soon, Powered by PlateSmart will be able to address vehicle orientation (front, rear, or side) and type for even more actionable vehicle data.
