Solutions to transform home gateways into 5G-ready services platforms
SoftAtHome, a software company for connectivity, pay TV, smart home and analytics, announced that SoftAtHome software products can be integrated and supported on the Qualcomm Networking Pro 1200 platform.
The Qualcomm Networking Pro 1200 platform is designed to offer the most complete set of Wi-Fi networking capabilities for today’s complex and densely populated connected home environments. With SoftAtHome’s connected-home products (Connect’ON, Wifi’ON, Secure’ON and Eyes’ON) integrated, the combined solution can deliver best-of-breed ultra-broadband services and wireless connectivity solutions. These include advanced data analytics available to broadband carriers and deployed in a wide range of carrier gateways and extenders managed by SoftAtHome software.
The Qualcomm Networking Pro 1200 platform is the core ingredient of Qualcomm Technologies’s gateway reference designs designed to enable ISPs to rapidly develop and deploy all-wireless home internet solutions pairing advanced 5G cellular and Wi-Fi 6 home networking capabilities. Beyond connectivity, SoftAtHome leverages the Qualcomm Networking Pro 1200 platforms’ considerable computing capabilities to enable users to download, install, and use applications for their digital home life via an Application Store.
Specific SoftAtHome’s products which can be directly ported onto the Qualcomm Networking Pro 1200 platform include:
- SoftAtHome’s Eyes’ON: designed to monitor customer experience and provide real-time evaluation of the network's capacity to deliver essential services, such as internet access, voice, gaming or live TV content.
- SoftAtHome’s Secure’ON: analyzes network indicators in real-time thanks to big data technology and monitors all in-home devices to identify those behaving suspiciously. Appropriate actions such as device-quarantine are then taken to protect privacy and home network security.
- SoftAtHome’s Wifi’ON: optimizes the wireless experience by improving bandwidth quality, coverage, and roaming experience within the home.
“The Qualcomm Networking Pro Series platforms offer powerful Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and provide maximum flexibility for customers to integrate capabilities like SoftAtHome’s intelligent in-home connectivity products,” said Nick Kucharewski, vice president and general manager for the Wireless Infrastructure and Networking Business unit at Qualcomm Technologies. “We are happy to work with SoftAtHome to help deliver these amazing capabilities to connected homes all over the world.”
David Viret-Lange, chief executive officer, SoftAtHome, added, “We are delighted to work with Qualcomm Technologies. By providing our full range of products on the Qualcomm Networking Pro Series platforms, we make the Home Gateway the Services Platform of the future ready for 5G.”
