Alstron Views the Security Industry in Singapore

Despite the sluggish economic growth in Singapore, the past few years have showed steady growth in the security industry, with more players entering the market. “We see more brands entering Singapore, especially China brands of camera, example HIK Vision and Dahua etc. The growth in infrastructure and property growth coupled with increased retail shops also lead to the growth of security,” said Rick Huang, Business Development Manager at Alstron.

As Singapore strives to maintain its status as one of the safest cities in the world, projects such as safe city are incorporating smart technologies to reduce labor costs. “There is major spending by the government to make Singapore a safer city. The government is also looking at using cameras with suitable backend video analytic software solution to improve productivity to replace labor intensive jobs like traffic monitoring and illegal parking,“ Huang explained.
