Thailand's investment agency said today it had approved applications for 15 projects worth $1.2 billion, mainly in renewable energy and auto parts.
Today's meeting was chaired by junta leader General Prayuth Chan-ocha. It was a third meeting since the May 22 military coup.
Udom Wongviwatchai, the Board of Investment's secretary-general, said in statement that the 15 projects would bring the total number of approved projects since June 8 to 121, worth $9.9B.
The BoI also unveiled three key measures, including promoting small and medium-sized enterprises, boosting production efficiency and investment in the southern provinces of Thailand.
“In terms of policies and criteria under the new strategy, BOI will adjust from promoting a wide range of businesses to promoting businesses with clear goals and priorities,” said Udom.
