All transport projects under the stalled US$ 61 billion borrowing bill will be reviewed as part of National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) efforts to draw up an infrastructure development master plan.

Construction of the mass transit Red Line from Bang Sue in Bangkok to Rangsit in Pathum Thani has started. The National Council for Peace and Order is considering whether to continue with large-scale infrastructure projects.

Air force chief Prajin Jantong, who heads the NCPO's economic affairs section, said the review of infrastructure schemes — which cover rail, road, maritime and aviation projects — is expected to take about 2 weeks.

All infrastructure mega-projects under the plan have been delayed since the Constitutional Court ruled earlier this year that the$ 61 billion borrowing bill to finance the projects was unconstitutional.

Among the schemes that are likely to proceed are the Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airport expansions. The controversial high-speed train projects will require detailed studies.

ACM Prajin also said the 2014 budget disbursement and 2015 budget planning will be carried out as scheduled.

Next year's fiscal budget will begin on Oct 1 as planned.
He said the ministry's proposed allocation of funds for the 2015 fiscal year is about three times more than that in the 2014 fiscal year.

He said the NCPO is expected to consider soon whether or not to continue with free bus and train services. The scheme was introduced as part of efforts to reduce living costs.
