Superintendent Jefferson Descallar, deputy for administration of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), reminded owners of business establishments on Monday not to hire security guards who have no license.
The reminder came after 3 security guards were arrested by the BCPO Special Operations Group (SOG) along San Sebastian St., Barangay 14.
Police identified the suspects as security guards, and they were spotted transporting stolen onstruction materials from the site of SM City mall.
Descallar said they received information that the suspects have been stealing construction materials from SM City several times already, and it was also discovered that two of them are not licensed security guards.
The suspects told the police that they stole the construction materials because of poverty.
He added that a security agency that deploys unlicensed security guards will be fined $1,120 per violation.
