Petronas unit contract for 4 firms in M'sia

Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) unit Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd has awarded a 5-year umbrella contract to 4 local engineering services contractors to undertake the design and engineering services for its facilities in the oil and gas industry.

The companies are Technip Consultant (M) Sdn Bhd, Perunding Ranhill Worley Sdn Bhd, RNZ Integrated (M) Sdn Bhd and MMC Oil & Gas Engineering Sdn Bhd.

Petronas said the scope of the contract, which commenced last September, covers domestic upstream oil and gas engineering services, including front-end engineering design and detailed design works.

During the contract period, Petronas Carigali will do closed competitive bidding among the 4 contractors to pick the most technically capable and commercially attractive bidder that meets its specified scope of work and project requirements, it said.
