AT&T Inc. is expanding its service territories to ASEAN ambitiously, aiming specifically to become the cloud-based wireless service provider in the region by 2020.
Having opened up local offices in Indonesia and Thailand, AT&T is devoted to provide machine-to-machine (M2M) applications that suit the tremendous business growth pertaining to the increasing mobile internet traffic in South East Asia. The M2M technology allows problem analysis that brings about quicker and cost-effective response.
Eric Loeb, AT&T's Vice-President for International External Affairs said by 2020, AT&T expects smart phones will have replaced people's wallets, pass cards, and keys, while tablets will function as a mobile office.
