Control4 supplements its Control4 KNX line by adding native import capabilities for popular keypads, including Basalte, CJC Systems, Ekinex, Gira, Jung, Tense, and Vitrium. This new integration enables home automation integrators to quickly add KNX keypads and create customized programming for a Control4 Smart Home. The broad selection of supported keypads provides homeowners more choice in devices which best suit their unique design and décor.

KNX is a popular standard for lighting and HVAC control in global markets including Australia, China, Germany, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. With more than 100 Control4 KNX products launched in the fall of 2018, and more than 200 KNX ecosystem products that can be supported natively by Control4 including new keypads, lighting, HVAC, blinds and rollers, and bus management products, Control4 delivers a fully-integrated experience available only through independent authorized Control4 Dealers. The Control4 KNX Network driver, supported in the latest Control4 OS, natively connects to KNX devices within the home without requiring a third-party gateway device. This support for KNX enables interoperability with the entire Control4 ecosystem, including support for Amazon® Alexa voice control, where available, and nearly 13,000 other connected products.

“KNX is a popular choice for lighting and HVAC integration by Control4 dealers, but it has been notoriously difficult to extend control to voice, audio, and video entertainment. By deeply integrating KNX products with Control4, we are bringing the power of Control4 audio/video entertainment, smart lighting, comfort, and more to a breadth of new customers,” said Martin Plaehn, Control4 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

“What I have always appreciated about Control4 is the simple integration of AV technology and the uniform operating system that allows each of my customers to personalize to their home. The new Control4 KNX components have allowed our dealership to offer a more comprehensive overall solution linked to KNX building automation,“ stated custom installer Sebastian Bieger of Bieger Bild- und Ton in Germany.

For homeowners, the new KNX solution provides access to a complete Control4 experience, including intuitive ways to control and interact with a home through a mobile app, touch screens, handheld remote, and voice control. Additionally, homeowners now have the ability to directly fine-tune their smart home automation using "When >> Then", a unique and innovative approach to homeowner automation personalization, now available in most KNX systems.

For dealers, the new Control4 KNX line is easy to install and program using existing ETS tools, and also includes an automatic import into a Control4 project. This integration makes it simple to tie programming—such as streaming audio—to a KNX keypad button-press or add Amazon Alexa voice control to lighting scenes where available.

The new Control4 KNX product portfolio is available through authorized Control4 Dealers in Australia, China, Germany, Ireland, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
