Established in 2007, Raysharp has grown to become the largest manufacturer of video surveillance products in the southern Guangdong province of China and a public company listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotation Systems (NEEQ), an over-the-counter national securities trading market, since 2015. With 50,000 square meters of factory space and 1,500 skilled and trained employees, Raysharp is ensuring that they can keep up with orders for more than 100,000 DVRs/ NVRs and 400,000 units of cameras each month (85 percent of which are sold overseas).

Its sales figures have grown rapidly over the past couple of years, from US$61.3 million (424 million RMB) in 2015 to $78.8 million (545 million RMB) in 2016 and $135 million (933 million RMB) in 2017.

R&D investment drives product innovation

Raysharp has placed great emphasis on research and development, employing more than 250 engineers and investing no less than 10 percent of annual revenue in this area. To further strengthen its R&D capabilities, the company has partnered with the Beijing Institute of Technology and Jilin University to establish "industry-academia research centers” to recruit talent on an annual basis to continuously drive innovation forward. This commitment to innovation can be seen in Raysharp’s full range of products, which includes H.265 IP cameras, Wi-Fi cameras, analog high-definition cameras and H.265 4-, 8-, 16-, 32- and 64-channel DVRs and NVRs. The company launched its new line of low-power consumption products, battery-based wireless video surveillance kits as well as AI-enabled products with facial detection and facial recognition capabilities at the recently concluded Security China 2018.

Intelligent video analysis

he company’s network video recorders and AI-enabled IP cameras are all equipped with intelligent analysis and deep learning. This enables features that make its cameras ideal for use across a wide range of verticals, including schools, roads, buildings, banks, utilities and the wilderness.
Raysharp's video surveillance portfolio

Facial recognition: Based on deep learning technology for highly accurate, continuous tracking, the cameras can capture high-definition images of the face from different angles and select the best one. This feature can easily be applied in different settings such as in retail stores where it can enhance in-store services by, for example, recognizing VIP customers or enable pre-emptive security measures by identifying potential thieves.

Perimeter intrusion detection: End users can designate zones in a camera shot to be monitored. When someone or something breaches it, the camera is triggered to capture an image.

Line-crossing detection: Users can set virtual lines in the camera’s view, and when someone of something crosses the line, the camera will be triggered to follow the person or object and capture their images.

Stationary object detection: A designated frame in the camera’s view is monitored, and an alarm is triggered when an object enters the area or is removed.

Pedestrian detection: Cameras detect and capture the whole body of a person walking by. Facial recognition enables the cameras to capture the face of the person walking by.

Cross counting: This functionality counts the number of times a pre-established line has been crossed by people or certain objects.

Wireless video surveillance kits

Raysharp’s 1080p high-definition wireless camera saves users the hassle of handling wires and the night vision feature turns on automatically in low-light conditions, allowing sharp and clear videos even in the dark. Additionally, the built-in floodlights can serve as an effective deterrent against crimes or intruders, said the company.

The device offers flexible power options — wireless, plugged-in and rechargeable battery. It has got a relatively high IP66 level of resistance against water, dust and other objects. The waterproof model can therefore be installed indoors and outdoors.

Secrets to substantial growth

Raysharp is one of the few companies in the video surveillance industry that has both professional R&D teams and a large-scale production facility to offer a complete product line at lower costs.

Focused on its OEM/ODM business, Raysharp continues to offer unique products and stays competitive in the market by customizing its software and hardware for its clients, making flexible and rapid adjustments according to actual installation environment and functional requirements. As such, Raysharp is not just a general supplier, but is rather one that forms partnerships and relationships with its clients for long-term development prospects.

Raysharp pointed out that it is very willing to listen and obtain information and feedback from its customers and the market. It will keep learning and improve on products, keep up with the industry trends, respond quickly and adjust product positioning in a timely manner. The company aims to have sustained growth in this fiercely competitive industry.
