Tyco launches Tyco On security platform

On November 21, 2014, fire and security giant Tyco International plc appointed former Honeywell and Eaton Corporation executive Daryll T. Fogal as the Chief Technology Officer to the company’s new “Tyco On” Smart Services Platform, announcing the placement strategic investments in Z-Wave based home automation platform provider Qolsys.

“Tyco On” is to be an open standards smart services and integrated data platform that will provide interconnectivity to a range of intelligent devices and thereby enhance efficiency and end-user utilization of security systems. Data provided by RFID trackers, video surveillance systems, smoke detectors, and other sensor devices will be made leverageable through the analytics platform via internet and mobile devices, manageable by consumers and security services technicians and providers alike. Furthermore, the platform infrastructure is to support both on-site and cloud-based deployment.

Prospectively, “Tyco On” plans to provide such services as proactive alerts with contextual data and coordinated multi-system responses.
