Bosch home appliances demonstrates the Home Connect system for the first time in the U.S. at the 2015 International CES in Las Vegas. Home Connect is an innovative technology solution that allows effortless control of multiple household appliances securely through a single app on a smartphone or tablet. Bosch home appliances will be located in the Smart Home Marketplace at the Sands Expo, booth #71032, alongside 11 other Bosch divisions showcasing mobility, consumer goods, energy and building technology solutions.

The Bosch booth will feature the global version of the Home Connect system developed in Germany and scheduled to be available in the European markets beginning in 2015. The app is the first connected system for Bosch home appliances and it gives consumers remote control over their home appliances, including ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers and dryers as well as built-in, fully automatic coffee machines, in a very convenient way.

Tailored to the real needs of busy consumers in their mobile and connected everyday lives, Home Connect operates household appliances with just a smartphone or tablet and a Wi-Fi connection. To utilize the app, consumers register online with a valid e-mail address, and data is exchanged between the app and the connected household appliances using the Home Connect protocol. Any necessary data is stored anonymously on the dedicated Home Connect server to protect consumer privacy.

In addition to offering safe and reliable remote access to all regular functions on linked appliances, the app offers practical and intelligent functions like the ability to monitor and control appliances remotely. Home Connect provides consumers with confidence that no matter where they are, they can control their appliances. Remote control allows consumers to turn off an oven, for example, and timer settings allow consumers to schedule appliances to match their daily routine. Through the use of convenience features such as a built-in camera, users can look inside their refrigerator when not at home, making meal choices and grocery shopping easier. Other offerings include recipes and cooking tips, operation instructions and videos, remote diagnostics and push notifications.

Home Connect is currently available in Germany and Austria and will be introduced into a growing number of countries, including the United States over the next several years. The first network-capable products were oven ranges and dishwashers, launched in December 2014. Additional Bosch connected appliances will be available in Europe in fall of 2015, with more Home Connect app features rolling out in late 2015.
