Commencing its expanded 2018 product marketing program, MATRIX Labs, the designer of industry-leading artificial intelligence IoT creation platforms, has announced the formal debut of MATRIX Creator and MATRIX Voice dev boards to European systems integrators at ISE 2018 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

First debuted to North American residential integrators at CEDIA 2017, the MATRIX Creator and MATRIX Voice allow for fast, efficient and affordable development of simple-to-complex IoT hardware applications, thereby opening up entirely new possibilities for European custom installers, according to MATRIX Labs Co-founder & CEO Rodolfo Saccoman.

“The MATRIX Creator, MATRIX Voice, and their proprietary MATRIX OS, empower integrators to build MATRIX-based IoT apps that perfectly complement any home or commercial automation system, and deliver functionality that may not be available through the large-scale automation systems,” stated Saccoman. “They produce entirely new opportunities for integrators to create applications that meet any unique customer requirement. With MATRIX Creator and MATRIX Voice, system integrators no longer have to follow the lead of large automation solutions providers; they can instead be their own solutions provider, which creates a broad range of new possibilities to grow and expand their businesses.”

MATRIX Creator incorporates a Xilinx Spartan 6 FPGA, an ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller, a range of sensors for motion, temperature, humidity, light, ultraviolet and infrared, an 8-microphone array and a 35-LED array. The board, which can be programmed in 40 different languages, also incorporates integrated Z-Wave and Zigbee communications plus connectivity via a wide range of analogue and digital input/output interfaces.

MATRIX Voice, is a smaller board that focuses on one thing: voice recognition. In addition to integrating with Raspberry Pi, MATRIX Voice can also be used in standalone mode using its onboard FPGA-heavy processing capabilities.

“With MATRIX products in integrators’ toolkit, they can seamlessly build and add customized functionality to accommodate any request beyond the system’s out-of-box capabilities. The MATRIX Creator and MATRIX Voice can pair with a whole-home or smart building automation system and satisfy all of a customer’s requests,” Saccoman explained.

According to Saccoman, once a MATRIX-based app is built for one project, it can be productized and sold to future clients who may require that same highly-customized functionality.

“In an increasingly competitive custom install market, integrators continuously seek creative means to generate recurring revenue streams,” continued Saccoman. “With the MATRIX platform, integrators evolve into small-scale manufacturers by developing IoT apps instead of spending a couple of years and millions in investment developing their own hardware. Therefore, integrators can focus on the software and the actual solution for their clients.”
