Dubai Ritz Carlton Hotel upgrades security with TKH Security Solutions

The Dubai Ritz Carlton Hotel puts up a challenging tender for a complete overhaul, upgrade and extension of its existing analog based CCTV system to monitor overall security inside and outside the hotel area. Advanced access control and number plate recognition for entering and leaving the parking areas was also included in the tender. The security systems needed to be integrated into a single Security Management Software system.

The challenge

The prestigious Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dubai asked by tender for offers to upgrade, enhance and extend its existing security system of 201 analog cameras, with a complete new IP video surveillance system, a new access control system, as well as for its five gate barriers Automatic Number Plate Recogintion (ANPR) for entry and exit of the hotel parking area. All systems, new and old needed to be integrated seemlessly.

The scope of the project comprised an integrated security management system (Sense en iProtect) that can control access on 113 doors and five gate barriers; a video surveillance and recording system of more than 400 channels and a link to the fire alarm system on 13 doors; two programming locations (server room and security room). Same entry cards to be used for the existing RMS and new access control system. IP encoders were installed to connect existing analog cameras to the network and old DVR’s had to be made redundant.

The solution

The excellent cooperation on previous projects with AFE (Al Futtaim Engineering) and the complete range of required systems and products to be offered by TKH Security Solutions made the customer and its consultant to reward the project to our partner AFE, contractor and us.

The ability to offer a complete integrated system and solution for IP video surveillance, advanced access control and reliable automatic number plate recognition turned out to be a major advantage over our competition. A total of 221 new IP cameras were offered, including 25 outdoor box cameras, 49 fixed indoor wall mount box cameras, 4 indoor wall mount WDR box cameras, 114 fixed indoor dome cameras, 4 outdoor PTZ cameras and 5 number plate recognition cameras. In addition, a master server with 85 TB storage, a backup server, Sense VMS, operator module software, 6 50” LCD monitors and 26 pieces 8 channel encoders.
