In order to come up with a comprehensive assessment, the products on this list all adhere to the following guidelines:
- The product must have been uploaded to the asmag.com database between January and December 2017.
- The main purpose of the product must be for professional security: no Wi-Fi cameras, cube cameras, DIY or cameras targeted at the smart home sector were included
- Only one product per company was chosen

Thermal camera
Dahua Technology’s TPC-BF2120 thermal camera uses thermal and visible technology, which is great for dark, small area monitoring applications. The series combines one thermal camera for monitoring in total darkness and one visible camera with Smart IR for confirming details.

Dust and water resistant
Hikvision Digital Technology’s DS-2CD2H85FWD-IZS 8 MP network turret camera, as well as Dahua, Infiniti, Arecont Vision and Honeywell products all boast an IP67 waterproof rating, while Arecont Vision’s dome camera has a rating of IP66. Furthermore, Infiniti’s Viper can withstand temperatures form -40 to 60 degrees Celsius with an anti-corrosion finish. Hikvision, Arecont Vision and Honeywell products on the other hand have an additional IK10 vandal resistant rating.
Size
