Liebherr built a new warehouse for the worldwide supply of spare parts for earthmoving machines in Oberopfingen, whose state-of-the-art logistics facilities allow an output of 3,500 spare parts per hour. In the long term, the spare parts logistics of further product lines of the company group will also be integrated in this location.
In order to protect the high-value goods, the access roads, parking lots and ramps have to be surveilled. The exterior has to be monitored as well, also in conditions of poor visibility - such as fog, rain and snow. In addition, an intelligent external detection system with image analysis has been be installed.
Flexible video management
All images of the video surveillance run centrally in video management system VDG Sense.
This installation contains VDG Sense Pro. The Pro license includes all innovative functionalities and has no limit on the number of servers and video channels. VDG Sense Pro also offers the possibility for intelligent video analytics like license plate recognition, object recognition, face detection and scene analyzing, just what this complex project requires. To process and watch the video footage, two workstations with two monitors were installed.
We decided to use VDG Sense because cameras of any brand can be integrated, including the FLIR and Grundig cameras that are used in this project. Because of the almost unlimited scalability of VDG Sense, Liebherr is ready for any future extensions. Last but not least we could adapt the flexible user interface to the specific needs of each user and deliver the high user convenience that the customer asked for.
