Infinova video surveillance solutions have been deployed at the Istanbul metro and currently cover about 18 metro stations.
About 1,500 megapixel IP cameras were deployed along with the existing installation of 720 IP and analog cameras. Cameras can be monitored locally from each metro station as well as centrally from 3 control rooms. The system is smartly designed to provide fully flexible failover management for all cameras. The system has been implemented by USKOM, Infinova’s certified integrator in Turkey.
The line starts at Turkey’s main bus terminal and continues through its Bagcilar district, past the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, to the fourth stage of Basak Housing Units. The rail line transports more than 36,000 people an hour.
Infinova was able to propose a much simplified network design as their video management software (VMS) V2217 supports using 3 different sub-networks (input sub-network, output sub-network and storage sub-network). Infinova V2217 VMS’ fully distributed architecture was useful in installing servers independent of each other and still providing access to all servers from required client computers. Infinova V2217 VMS is designed to clearly separate out administration features and operation features. With 20 servers and 40+ clients, this design was very useful in streamlining the access permissions and ensuring highest security.
Infinova V2217 VMS supports 48 different languages, which includes the local language of Turkey, namely Turkish. Using Turkish language, in all the client machines helped the operators in understanding the software quickly and using it without requiring any assistance.
Infinova V2217 VMS provides quick, easy configurations, layouts and simple GUI to change the display layouts as per operator requirement as well as supports multiple monitors and video walls. The control centers required display of all cameras – some with fixed display layout with carousel layout.
Infinova V2217 VMS was also designed to provide advanced map features. These features were useful to locate the cameras on the map and view the required videos quickly. Map presets, multi-level maps, client specific maps configuration with export to server and import from server were useful in quick configuration of the solution.
Optimized processing in Infinova V2217 VMS was useful in minimizing the resource utilization (processor, memory and bandwidth), and without requiring any special hardware.
