Password checker IP camera vulnerability solution introduced by Viakoo

Viakoo, provider of the security industry’s only proactive automated data verification solution, is debuting its innovative new Password Checker here at ISC West. Password Checker is an automated solution that verifies network cameras are not using default or commonly used passwords, which are a proven network vulnerability for cyberattacks. Additionally, Password Checker helps ensure compliance to many standards, including PCI, NERC, NIST, etc., which require that surveillance networks can’t be compromised.

Viakoo Password Checker (as part of the Viakoo Predictive solution) examines HTML authentication points to test a variety of common URL entry points and frequently used passwords. Test results are reported for each camera on the network to alert system operators if they need to change some or all easily compromised passwords. Viakoo Password Checker can be run on-demand or on a scheduled basis.
