Background
Thorpe Park Resort in the U.K. had an aspiration: to bring their video surveillance system into the 21st century while keeping costs down.
IndigoVision were tasked with providing an IP solution that would allow Thorpe Park Resort to reach this goal of a single system centralising the monitoring of all cameras.
Solution
Working closely with IndigoVision, CVSS's Works Director Arran Henderson designed the system to meet Thorpe Park Resort’s requirements. This included reusing 236 existing analog cameras by migrating them to an IP solution using IndigoVision’s BX100 Four Channel Encoder. The migration enabled the camera infrastructure to be linked back to a centralised control room, unified by a newly installed fibre network and two IndigoVision 40TB NVR-AS 4000.
The Thorpe Park Resort system has continued to grow, aided by the flexibility of IndigoVision’s Control Center. Many analog cameras have been replaced with IndigoVision PTZ cameras and with the recent introduction of the ‘Derren Brown’s Ghost Train’ IndigoVision minidome cameras have been installed, utilizing their low light functionality.
According to Martin Swain, installations and projects coordinator for Thorpe Park Resort, "Compared to our previous analog system, the new IndigoVision solution allowed us to save valuable time dealing with incidents because of the ability to quickly and easily review footage within a centralized location.”
