IoT pushes system integration in new generation smart buildings

The concept of smart buildings has been tossed around over the last few years; however, due to the difficulty in integrating and optimizing building structures, systems, services, and management — the things that make a smart building, it was not able to achieve a high degree of market penetration. • Through the safety management system, electrical conditions of the building can be monitored at all times. When an abnormal electrical overload occurs, the system will alert building managers, reducing the chance of an electrical fire from starting
• Indoor environment monitoring can detect unusually elevated room temperature as well as detect suspicious gas fumes. When such a situation occurs, the system will immediately activate the ventilation system or secure the gas source, and at the same time alert the owner, building manager, police, and fire units
• System sensors can detect unauthorized entry of windows and doors, thereby immediately sounding the alarm to notify management staff. The surveillance system will also automatically record the incident, where the footage will be sent to cloud storage for future analysis

2. Healthy and comfortable environment

• The HVAC system can regulate indoor environments via automatic heating, cooling, and ventilating of the building by determining the number of occupants inside the building, and the temperature outside
• By detecting outside temperature and daylight exposure, the lighting control system can automatically regulate lighting by adjusting electronic blinds and lights customized to the user’s requirements
• Users can conserve energy by programming lighting and HVAC systems to be switched on or off according to user schedule
