Easy evidence exporting – Mirasys Storyboard
The Mirasys VMS 7.5 Enterprise version provides a very handy evidence exporting solution, the Mirasys Storyboard. Many people can cooperate in creating these incident stories. With the Storyboard you can easily combine the video recordings from multiple cameras, event descriptions, bookmarks and timings of one incident to a clear, chronological report. Video clips can be played sequentially in desired order or simultaneously in a grid. You can preview and export this movie-like story of the incident.
In the exported Storyboard clips as well as in basic clips the virtual camera zoom settings and 360 de-warped image’s de-warp settings are remembered meaning that the viewer sees the image as it was intended. You can also control directly the 360 de-warp settings with the computer mouse as if it was a pan-tilt-zoom camera. It is possible to change the virtual camera/zoom/360 settings when viewing the clips but the initial view is the same as it was when the image was exported.
To create bookmarks with ease a keyboard shortcut has been created. Bookmarks are clearly visible in the time slider. You can edit the name and description later if required.
Effective surveillance and large systems’ management
Mirasys VMS 7.5 offers a possibility that Profile Maps (area maps or layouts of buildings) can react to alarms by switching the view on the screen. Profile Maps can also be displayed from the alarm list. These are very effective tools in multisite systems with centralized surveillance.
In Alarm search you can have now maximum of 5,000 results. We have added a ‘Search More’ button which can be used to continue search from the last found time as Search start time is not changed anymore. Alarm highlight color is customizable instead of the fixed yellow as before. For example, all integrations can have the same color.
Multi-monitor management has been made easy with Spotter Monitor Manager plugin for one server (needs a separate installation). When multiple local workstation monitors are connected to one workstation, which has the Spotter Monitor Manager plugin installed, the user of that workstation can easily manage and control what’s shown on those other workstation monitors even though the monitors might not be physically visible to him. For example, in a small shop a single workstation in a back office can control and run remote monitors cashiers are using.
User management is faster and easier in the Mirasys VMS 7.5 – even when handling users with limited rights. The Mirasys VMS system supports several types of user roles: administrator, monitoring user, archive viewing user, end user, and custom.
The custom role provides the ability to restrict the functionalities the users can view and access in Spotter through close to a hundred different options. Now you can import and export different custom user role configurations. This is very helpful in multi-site, multi-server, multi-customer installations, where the same configuration needs to be used on every installation site.
In the 7.5 version User lock and login will have ‘autoload a default layout’ options. The default layout can be loaded automatically, after a user logs on, or when the application is locked. In the first option the ‘allow-only-to-view’ user gets a preloaded layout he/she is allowed to see on the screen. The latter is very handy, as it allows a user to walk away, and when the Spotter user interface times out due to inactivity, and locks, then whatever was shown is replaced with the chosen default layout that displays those grids and cameras that should be shown, if nothing else is going on.
For potential troubleshooting and support purposes we have created more tools. Installer logs are created to the ’.\logs’ subfolder which is found in the folder from where the installer was launched. Also a recorder connection status screen can be made available with Diagnostics spotter plugin. Even when watching the camera layouts on the screen you can easily see from the Diagnostics tab if a connection to any server is suddenly lost.
Pleasant user experience and better performance
Many of the features in the new Mirasys VMS 7.5 allow customization based on individual preferences creating a better user experience and improving performance.
Mirasys VMS includes many different sets of camera grid layouts you can choose between. But now you can also easily create your own customized camera grids. In addition to this camera grid cells can also contain Spotter plugins such as the Alarm Popup view or the Profile Maps in a grid cell mixed with camera views.
When using the media export function you can choose to also export the viewing application; either SpotterPlayer (default), the old MediaPlayer or none. You have also multiple flexible ways to adjust the export “handles” of the Exporting time slider. Media exporting size and quality controls are now available also in Spotter settings view.
We have also improved the image presentation. The playback is now even smoother as before, thanks to more efficient drawing and stream buffering. You will see the difference especially with high-resolution, high-framerate cameras.
In addition, showing the video with original aspect ratio - the autocrop mechanism - to fit the video fully to the grid cell area, in version 7.5 we have also added an image stretching option, where the video occupies the entire displayable area, regardless of the grid cell’s or the original video’s dimensions.
Finally, the cameras take the whole screen now as the grids in Spotter tab views show no borders between the grid cells. If you prefer to see the borders, and can sacrifice the pixels, the displaying of the gridlines can be turned on in Spotter settings.
