QNAP Systems announced the release of new enterprise-class 12Gbps SAS-enabled, 40GbE-ready TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series rackmount NAS. Available in 24, 16, 15 and 12-bay models, the series is compatible with the high-density 12Gbps SAS RAID expansion enclosures REXP-1620U-RP and REXP-1220U-RP. Featuring Qtier Technology, that drives Auto Tiering for optimal storage efficiency, the TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series can help businesses save money on expensive Flash technology but still enjoy exceptional application performance and lower TCO of storage.

The TVS-ECx80U-SAS-RP series is powered by a quad-core Intel Xeon E3 v3 processor with 16GB DDR3 or 8GB DDR3 ECC RAM to deliver high performance up to 3,800+ MB/s throughput and 268,100+ IOPS, supports 10GbE-ready network connectivity, and features pre-installed 256GB mSATA modules for caching to improve the overall workflow of IOPS-demanding applications.

The QTS Storage Manager can be used to manage the entire NAS capacity, and quickly create volume/LUN snapshots for easy backup, restoration and cloning.
QNAP provides various apps to improve work productivity, including Qsirch for quickly finding NAS data with its powerful near real-time full-text search engine, Qsync that supports centralized configuration and can remotely erase the Qsync folder, Q’center for centrally managing multiple QNAP NAS units; and Gmail Backup for archiving important emails in the NAS.
