Volktek expects major boost in security business for 2015

Volktek, the Taiwan-based provider of expert industrial optical ethernet solutions, expects its security surveillance switches business to grow at about 50 percent over the previous year in 2015, on strong demand from emerging Asian markets.

Speaking to a&s International at the Secutech 2015 trade show in Taipei, James Chen, President of Volktek, said that the company's strongest markets so far have been US and Canada, but going forward the major driver of revenue growth will be emerging markets like India and Thailand.

The Indian security market has been seeing a strong rebound of late, as government initiatives and security awareness has prompted a stronger demand. Analysts and industry players are expecting the trend to continue as the recently elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes efforts to boost the economy.
