[SMAhome International Exhibition] Zinwell demos its powerline smart home solution

Zinwell exhibited its powerline smart home solution, including home network cameras called plugCAM. The cameras, with built-in PLC chipset, feature Homeplug AV-compliant communication technology to offer real plug-and-play user experience. In comparison with most Wi-Fi network cameras, the powerline cameras, without any IP configuration, plugged into the wall outlet can automatically detect and connect to the PLC adapter. Up to 7 cameras are supported in a house. The company indicated that powerline features more stable data streaming than Wi-Fi connection.

Like most Wi-Fi network cameras, the powerline cameras support HD 720p video, H.264 video format, integrated microphone, alert notification, motion detection, night vision, and SD card for local storage. Users can view live videos via Internet or 3G-enabled mobile devices like smartphones or tablets.

Besides cameras, the solution also comprises PLC adapter and Wi-Fi extender. The PLC adapter supports 500Mbps data transfer speed and turns existing wires into internet connection. The Wi-Fi extender is designed to extend Wi-Fi network coverage through wall outlets.
