Thailand's security systems market is stronger than ever before, and the demand is increasing in accordance to the global trend. The industry is also witnessing acceleration towards IP-based video and utilization of smartphone apps. Bosch Security Systems sees an increasing trend in replacement of old analog systems to IP-based systems. In addition, the Government of Thailand and the provincial authorities are investing more on city surveillance across the nation in all districts. The investment in city surveillance will continue to support security market growth; however, the Thai government's decision making process and product evaluation criteria still have room for improvement. One way to improve the product evaluation is to have more involvement by the police, who as users have very specific requirements that can be fulfilled by Bosch. Also, as city surveillance requires integrated systems, and collects vast amounts of data, better IVA applications need to be introduced. Hardware such as cameras needs to be robust, as well as be able to produce crisp, clear images.
