Global Smart Home Market Seminar was held by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media(MFNE) on Sept 3rd in Taipei, Taiwan. The event has attracted 41 attendees from 31 Taiwanese security and IP networking companies joined to exchange the market development perspectives.
Security has developed in the two directions: professional security and home security. In order to let the security professional better understanding of the smart home market, MFNE shared the related market info and announced the brand new platform -- SMAhome, consisting of trade fair, events, digital and print media.
At the seminar, Mr Parson Lee, Managing Director of MFNE commented, “Home security is a new market for professional security makers. The whole sales channel and business models are different from the traditional security. Beyond the single device selling, the makers should turn themselves into home security solution providers by cooperation or build the alliance with other makers. SMAhome will be the efficient platform for connections and networking between various smart home supplying chains.”
According to the seminar content, smart home is a renewed market thanks to the new tech, product, developer and channels in the recent couple of years. Major smart home sales channels include, Telcos/ ISP's, Cable TV, HA Brands, Retail, Home Camera Brands and Alarm Monitoring Services. However, software is the king in nowadays smart home market. For Asian manufacturers, software developers may not be the direct buyers, but it is suggested to make friendship/partnership with them.
