In a security market dominated by low margins and price competition, Nexus Connect (NC), launched this February by Center Group, is a new, sustainable distribution model, with a simple aim, to generate ongoing business for partner integrators and manufacturers, and to provide end users with the best possible security system. NC is a new approach to installer partner programs which aims to do away with the inherent problems in schemes operated and controlled by manufacturers which generally solely aim to build loyalty among integrators, requiring commitment from the installation company to buy a certain value of product from that single manufacturer.
IP solutions offer multiple opportunities for integration and solution development that go much further than any previous CCTV system using traditional analog technology. To realize this, and take full advantage of the possibilities, all partners in the program are committed to delivering quality-assured, future-proof products and solutions. As the hub of the product and integrator selection, the Center Group offers market-leading expertise in this diverse technology "mine field". The company believes that the key to success and growth for all parties involved in the program, is to supply a range of products from leading manufacturers that understand and deliver products that integrate fully for the delivery of bespoke client solutions.
The key in tackling the issues of low margin and price competition lies in this understanding and believing in the fundamental business ethic that profit comes as a result of exceeding customer expectations.
As the program evolves and becomes more established, we can see the roles of integrators and manufacturers becoming more clearly defined. In this "new" IP world we believe that the NC program allows the manufacturer to concentrate on their core skills, such as developing their brand and their products. Thus, they lead the market through their product development programs. We believe that the integrators will subsequently get a platform which will allow them to concentrate more on their core role in developing customer solutions and relationships with a more holistic approach.
In the NC program, the role of distributor in the old sense of the word is inappropriate. The Center Group believes that we add value as an intermediary and facilitator for both ends of the distribution chain. As the intermediary, we need to offer expertise, leadership, decision making as well as technical support to our partners. This cannot be based on the lowest cost, highest stock model that is typical of the traditional distri-bution model of business in this market.
Evolution and ViS have signed on as NC's latest integrator partners.
