Behavioral Recognition Systems (BRS Labs) announced a preferred funding round. This new level of investment will directly support research and development for significant new capabilities and performance enhancements in the company's market-leading behavioral recognition solutions.

The preferred funding round, available only to accredited investors, will finance the final stage of development for the company's product line. Behavioral recognition and analysis for video surveillance represents the most difficult and demanding application of its core technology, and is now in wide use for enhanced real-time situational awareness for safety and security, anti-crime and anti-terror applications.

The new line of products resulting from this investment is scheduled for release in early 2014 and will expand the application of the company's behavioral recognition technology to markets outside of video surveillance. Potential new applications of this technology include cyber-security, chemical-biological-nuclear threat-detection, airspace management, submersion systems, facilities management, and other areas requiring real-time behavior analysis across large numbers of disparate sensors.

“Our behavioral recognition solution has proven itself as the only scalable and manageable video surveillance solution for real-time threat and safety awareness,” said Ray Davis, CEO of BRS Labs. “It routinely replaces obsolete video analytics applications at major rail transit agencies, city and municipalities, state and federal government campuses, critical infrastructure, electrical and nuclear sites, and other high-threat facilities around the world.” Without relying on profits from existing products, the funding round will enable the company to deepen its commitment to ongoing research and development of the technology.
