Trance, a new film from Oscar-winning director, Danny Boyle, has put Paxton's access control readers onto the silver screen. The British crime thriller released last month in UK cinemas is centered on an art heist. The stylish readers are used to protect the vault in an old auction house where the art heist takes place. They provide a high security look that keeps the feel of Boyle's exciting and fast-paced thriller.

Three Mills Studios is London's largest film studios and was responsible for creating the Trance set. The visual goal was to produce a modern, bold and colorful setting, at the same time keep the balance between the old world and new. Dominic Capon, Set Decorator, chose Paxton readers to star in the film after extensive research into suitable products. Paxton were pleased to provide them with the readers in satin chrome; a smart, low profile reader suitable for a range of environments.

According to Capon, Paxton readers were chosen for the set, not only because of their appearance, which is a clear advantage on film, but also because of its sophistication. The brief from Boyle was to give the old world auction house setting clean, modern, and high tech equipment. The Three Mill Studios team was really pleased with the overall effect of the readers and with the support they received from Paxton.

This is not the first time that Paxton kit has been used in television and film. Paxton's readers have previously featured in BAFTA-winning television series, Sherlock and ITV hospital drama, Monroe.
