Chinese-Korean automobile production line relies on IP surveillance

Mission
As a first-class modern automobile factory, the Dongfeng Yueda Kia factory production line uses the most advanced flexible production methods, which can produce a variety of models in a single production line. At the same time, the automation of the second plant workshops is very high and computer systems are widely used. Except for certain work that must be manually completed, most operations are generally automated. In order to prevent flaws during the automation process, Axis network cameras have been installed in the stamping, welding, paint, assembly, and engine shops.

Solution
Kia installed Axis network cameras in each workshop production line. The front end system has incorporated Axis 216FD, 214 PTZ, Q1755, 213 PTZ and P5512 network cameras. Their PTZ functions are controlled by Axis 295 video surveillance controller which was installed in the control room.

The back end uses an all-digital real-time monitoring software with powerful N-tier streaming forwarding. It was specifically designed for large and complex networks, which can move between different types of networks through software stream forwarding. The multilayer monitoring center is specifically designed for large and complex needs, such as banking, securities and the police. The digital matrix supports analog video wall and digital TV wall. Dual display has a main screen and an auxiliary screen, with the options for a variety of combinations. It supports equipment such as encoders, decoders and network cameras from multiple companies. It also supports H.264, MPG-4, MPG-2, Motion- JPEG protocols, seamless mixed applications of multiple devices, rocker and data acquisition, etc.

Result
After the project was implemented, the management of the Dongfeng Yueda Kia factory can monitor the operations of each workshop at any time, especially the key risk areas. After the system came online, it greatly accelerated the response time of the verification of incidents and troubleshooting, which is in full compliance with the demands of Dongfeng Yueda Kia's original design.

The application of the new system effectively improved services, simplified coordination with other agencies, shortened response time and increased operational efficiency. It uses Axis HDTV network cameras to obtain a large number of traceable, high quality video images, thus improving management level and customer service quality.
