SimonsVoss Technologies AG has reported group sales of 46.4 million euros for the business year 2011. Thus sales increased by an impressive 18 per cent compared with the previous year.
The main driving force behind growth in 2011 was business transactions in Germany. However, business also increased significantly abroad, thanks to initial deliveries of the new Smart Handle 3062 and Digital Lock Cylinder 3061-SC with its smart card functions.
At the end of the year, SimonsVoss employed a total workforce of over 270, an increase compared with the 250 employees in 2010. New employees were primarily hired for the company's international sales offices. These offices include a new branch for the North European market based in Stockholm.
SimonsVoss also sees promising market opportunities emerging for this year. “As the extremely positive feedback received so far shows, market acceptance for our new products is very high. We hope to gain additional impulses for future growth based on such an exceptionally pleasing development,” states Hans-Gernot Illig, CEO at SimonsVoss Technologies AG.
In order to meet the increase in demand worldwide, SimonsVoss is currently building a new production facility in Osterfeld, eastern Germany. The ceremonial ground-breaking will take place at the site this summer. Digital lock cylinders and the digital fitting Smart Handle will roll off the production line in the new plant as from mid-2013.
