MOBOTIX, an industry leading provider of high-resolution, network-based security solutions, announces that Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates chose to deploy a comprehensive MOBOTIX megapixel, IP-based surveillance solution as part of a strategic initiative to increase security in its North Carolina facility, which serves as the home base of its NASCAR racing team.
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing is a two-car team competing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, the most competitive form of racing in North America. They field the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/McDonald's Chevrolet for Jamie McMurray, who won the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 in 2010, and the No. 42 Target Chevrolet for Juan Pablo Montoya in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
Earnhardt Ganassi Racing replaced its prior analog system with a full-fledged IP-based video solution from MOBOTIX to capture high-resolution video that provided the high image clarity and details needed to conduct detailed investigations. The organization partnered with systems integrator ComSurv to deploy the new system.

MOBOTIX is a pioneer in the development of high-resolution surveillance technology and its decentralized concept makes high-resolution video systems cost efficient. One single MOBOTIX camera with 3.1 megapixels records 30 times more detail than traditional CCTV cameras. As a result, larger image areas of up to 360-degree views are possible. This reduces the number of cameras needed in any environment and therefore, upfront and long-term costs. Unlike other systems, the decentralized MOBOTIX concept incorporates a high-speed computer into every camera. This reduces network bandwidth because video is processed on the cameras itself and images do not have to be constantly transferred.

ComSurv installed 12 MOBOTIX high-resolution cameras to replace 16 analog cameras at the EGR facility. The cameras, a mixture of MOBOTIX models including D12, M12 and Q24 cameras, are managed by MOBOTIX MxControlCenter. MxControlCenter is professional video management software included with the purchase of MOBOTIX cameras at no additional cost. It includes all the functions required from a robust security software solution including unlimited users, simple configuration and installation, layout editor for floor plans, and a user-friendly interface and camera view.
