Another feature is the event management built into the NVR. The initial configuration of motion detection, alarm input, connection failure and recording failure can all be set for after-work hours. If any irregularity is detected, an alarm notification can be sent to Telekom Tower's security office. The guarding staff can then make the necessary protective measures accordingly. In terms of storage, the NVR can be linked to 40 network cameras. With up to 16GB of storage mated with H.264 video compression to save hard drive space, TM security personnel can record and monitor all network cameras installed around the facilities with ease.

"This type of cross-building surveillance requires QNAP NVR's decentralized data saving, remote access and centralized management ability. The NVR has decreased bandwidth and has successfully adapted to the local network infrastructure anywhere inside the building," said Syahrul, Technical Assistant Personal at VADS. "To manage more than 250 cameras from different suppliers and original DVRs in the building of TM is a stress out and tough work, we have been running up and down everyday just to make sure all the systems are functioning well. To solve this problem, we have found James Booi, the GM from Semboyan Teliti that introduced us the QNAP NVR solution. This solution put all the different brands of cameras on a single platform and provided powerful back-end managing ability, now the impossible have become possible."
