OSI Systems, a provider of electronic products for critical applications in the security and health care industries, announced that its security division, Rapiscan Systems, has been awarded orders for approximately US$2.8 million to provide baggage and parcel X-ray inspection systems to a civil aviation authority in Asia. The systems to be provided include Rapiscan’s explosives detection system for screening of checked passenger baggage and X-ray scanners, used for screening of carry-on passenger baggage.

OSI Systems, a provider of electronic products for critical applications in the security and health care industries, announced that its security division, Rapiscan Systems, has been awarded orders for approximately US$2.8 million to provide baggage and parcel X-ray inspection systems to a civil aviation authority in Asia. The systems to be provided include Rapiscan's explosives detection system for screening of checked passenger baggage and X-ray scanners, used for screening of carry-on passenger baggage.
The Rapiscan is capable of screening up to 1,500 bags per hour and features matrixing and networking capabilities. The Rapiscan carry-on baggage screening solution has been deployed at airports and features Rapiscan's proprietary TARGET threat detection software for rapid detection of potential threats.
