Axis Communications is strengthening its patent portfolio through acquisition of “Internet Camera Portfolio” from Hoya and its affiliate. The acquisition consists of about twenty patents. The purchase price of the patents will not be disclosed.
The acquired patent portfolio includes patents regarding network communication and cameras which deliver images over networks using different network protocols.

The acquisition of the patents strengthens our portfolio and thus safeguards our partner's future possibility of selling Axis network video products, said Ray Mauritsson, President of Axis Communications.
